Four playable characters
Aquilles, Psyquill, Squillshot, and Quillith each carry their own card pool and playstyle.
Quillrun is a roguelike deck-building game built for the classroom. Students fight their way through procedurally generated runs — and every correct answer to your curriculum questions upgrades a card in their deck.
Free for teachers. No student accounts required.
Most review games end when the questions do. Quillrun turns them into the engine of a real run: four playable characters, procedurally generated maps, minibosses, shop nodes, and a final boss — all powered by the question sets you build or assign.
Students answer multiple-choice or numeric questions before each fight. Get one right, and a card in the active deck gets stronger. Get one wrong, and the deck stays as it is — no penalty beyond the fight ahead. By the time a class reaches its boss, no two decks look the same.
You manage everything from a separate educator dashboard: build question sets from scratch or start from a preset library, assign them to a class, and watch results come in as students play.
Write your own multiple-choice or numeric questions, or start from a preset library and adjust it.
Students join with a class code — no student account required, unless you want one.
Each correct answer upgrades a card. Students play through maps, a miniboss, and a final boss.
See accuracy, response time, and per-question performance for the whole class or one student.
Aquilles, Psyquill, Squillshot, and Quillith each carry their own card pool and playstyle.
Procedurally generated maps, a miniboss, a shop, and a final boss — every run plays out differently.
Cards only get stronger through correct answers, so mastery and deck power grow together.
Class codes get students in fast. No required sign-in, per-student and per-class analytics either way.
Assign a ready-made question set on day one, or build your own whenever you're ready.
No. A class join code is enough for a student to start a run. If you'd rather have persistent student progress and sign-in, you can require it per class.
Create a class, share the code, and assign a question set — most teachers have a class running its first game session in under five minutes.
No. Quillrun ships with preset question sets you can assign right away, and you can build your own from scratch or edit a preset at any time.
Quillrun is built for middle and high school classrooms.
Quillrun runs in the browser, no install required, and is designed with Chromebooks in mind since that's the most common classroom device.
Quillrun is completely free right now. As the platform grows, we may introduce an optional pro tier for teachers — things like publishing custom question sets or browsing other teachers' custom sets — but the core game, class creation, and analytics will stay free.
Students can play anonymously by default — no account, no personal information, just a class code. If a teacher chooses to require verified sign-in for a class, only that student's email and their responses to the assigned questions are recorded. We built Quillrun around a simple rule: collect the minimum needed to make the classroom feature work, and nothing more. Student privacy isn't a setting we bolted on — it's the default we designed around.
Reach out and a real person will get back to you — usually within a school day or two.
